Attitude of Gratitude

I Chronicles 16:8 – O give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples!

What is my attitude?  Do I show my gratitude to God and to those around me?  So here’s the proposition: for the rest of 2012 and all of 2013 I will be writing everyday about something for which I am grateful.  They say it takes 30 days to make a habit so 365+ should cement this habit, and should make the attitude of gratitude permanent.

God has blessed and will continue to bless because that is the way He is.  So now it is up to us to “make known his deeds” to those around us.  This week we celebrated His birth, his coming to earth to demonstrate to us the extent of God’s love.  In one of my favorite Christmas songs there is a line that always makes me think: from the manger bed, what a path has led, what a perfect holy way.”  Christ’s birth was the earthly start to a path that led to the cross, the grave and heaven itself.

So on this day, I will start with being thankful for Christ’s birth and subsequent death for my sin.  “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift.”
