Who do you say that I am? – Luke 9

This question is the most important any person will ever answer. More important than any asked in a court of law or even in a marriage ceremony. In moving recently I’ve had to look for a new job. And I have to say, I do not like job interviews, telling complete strangers personal information and things that I really don’t feel comfortable sharing. And the interviewers always ask the same questions: your goals, your strengths, your weaknesses. I never know how to answer them. But this question, “Who do you say that I am?” our eternal destination, heaven or hell, depends on our answer.

Many say that Jesus was just another man, a religious fanatic who pulled others into his “god complex”. Some say he was crazy. Others that he was a liar who died for those lies. Still others say he was a prophet, like Mohammed or any other religious figure.

But me, what do I believe? Who do I say that Jesus is? I say with Peter, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!” (Matthew 16:16) But He’s so much more.

He’s the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
He’s an ever present help in times of trouble.
He’s my Lord and my God.
He’s the only begotten Son of God
He’s the Son of Man, the Son of Adam, the Son of David
He’s the King of kings and the Lord of lords
He’s the Word of God made flesh
           He’s my Savior
He’s my Passover Lamb who died to save me from my sins.
He’s the Lion of the tribe of Judah who is coming to conquer and reign on the earth for 1000 years.
           He’s the Holy One.
           He’s the Great I Am
He’s the Way, the Truth, the Life, the ONLY way to the Father.

And that’s just part of who Jesus is to me

Who do you say that He is?
